Meet the cabinet members

Ishmam Fardin

"My motivation for founding this club stems from my fascination with the driven, competitive, and social nature of hackathons, alongside my desire to find a community embodying these qualities at City College. At our school, I noticed a disconnect among Computer Science students and a lack of facilities providing hands-on experience with guidance. Through BYTE, I aim to mentor members with my knowledge and advice, guide them in building their projects, and create an environment for growth and success."

Thanjila

"Hi guys! My name is Thanjila and I am BYTE's graphic designer. As part of our E-Board, I work to elevate our club's visual branding throughout our social media and communications. Although I'm an EDM major, I have experience within the tech world as part of BYTE's first cohort and other various extracurriculars. You may see my work through our icons, posts, and slides. If you want to chat about design, hit me up!"

Jawad Kabir

"Hey folks! My name is Jawad Kabir. I am one of the cofounders here at BYTE, as well as the Hackathon organizational Lead. Some of my hobbies include building model-kits, video games, Leetcode🤓, and card games. My goal for the club is to foster a productive simulated environment, allowing members to cooperate and encourage one other to improve. Ultimately the college experience is what you make out of it, and so I hope that through BYTE I can help others reach their fullest potential."

Jay Noppone

"Hi all! I'm a Computer Science major with experience in building full-stack projects, and smaller scale computer vision and machine learning projects. Currently, I'm moving towards embedded engineering and lower-level software development. I'm passionate about learning new technologies and being more involved in topics I'm not as experienced in, and enjoy helping others go outside their comfort zone as engineers within BYTE. In the past, I wasn't as proactive in software development, and wish to push other early college students to avoid that mistake! My hobbies mainly include biking in the city and also cooking."

Abrar Habib

"Hey everyone! I'm Abrar — a mentee turned mentor here at BYTE. I'm super passionate about backend development and systems programming, and lately I've been diving deep into Rust (and loving it). I daily drive Linux 👨‍🍳 and love the low-level side of computing. Through BYTE, I want to help spark curiosity in whatever projects we build and create an environment where people feel motivated to learn and push boundaries. My goal is to help shape a new wave of passionate engineers who are excited to take on the real world."

Robert Feliciano

"First-year student at CCNY and active member of BYTE. I started as a cohort coder and recently moved into event planning to help the club grow. Big supporter of learning by doing and will be looking to explore embedded projects, robotics, and tech that creates real-world impact in general. Always looking to build skills and contribute wherever I can."

Jawad Chowdhury

"Hi! I'm the other Jawad at BYTE. I started out as an Applied Math major at CCNY, but I took CSC102 as an elective and really ended up enjoying the class. I took a big leap and decided to take on Computer Science as a second major. Hackathons opened my eyes to an incredible community of passionate likeminded people, and those experiences really made me the person I am today. I'm deeply passionate about full stack development and love the process of bringing ideas to life through code. In my free time, I like building keyboards, watches, and computers. My goal with BYTE is to help create the same collaborative, project-focused environment that I discovered at hackathons. I believe the best way to learn is by building alongside other driven individuals who share your passion"

Fahad Faruqi

"My dedication to this club comes from my passion for community & project building. Hackathons have shown me a whole new side of software engineering communities that I wish to replicate here in CCNY. I believe that by building projects with likeminded driven SWEs, we can create a community that fosters growth and learning. I use Linux btw 🤓"

Baljinder Singh Hothi

"Many of you may know me, but my name is Baljinder. I'm a CS major passionate about ML and AI. I am dedicated to BYTE due to my own life experiences; When I was a freshman and sophomore, I lacked the necessary resources needed to build my own projects. My hope with BYTE is to help CCNY students who were in similar spots as myself grow their skills, become ready for real-world applications, and ideally land a MAANG internship. My hobbies include reading, gaming, and playing sports (basketball, volleyball, and rock climbing). BTW I'm the cool Eboard member 🦅"
